Schneider Hof Raffle

Win Ski Vacation for Four in St. Anton, Austria!

The New England Ski Museum is raffling off another ski vacation for four in Hannes Schneider’s hometown of St. Anton am Arlberg in Austria.

Christoph and Hannah Schneider, owners of the Schneider Hof in downtown St. Anton, have generously donated a one-week stay for four people at their boutique hotel in a self-catered apartment. Two dates are available: April 6-13, 2025 or Dec. 13-20, 2025. The mayor of St. Anton has donated weekly ski passes for four to round out this amazing prize.

The Schneider Hof is the original home of Austrian Skimeister Hannes Schneider in St. Anton am Arlberg. Christoph’s grandfather, Hannes Schneider, is considered by many the Father of Modern Skiing. He came to North Conway in 1939 thanks to Harvey Gibson, the New York financier who grew up in North Conway. He negotiated Schneider’s release from Nazi prison and then brought Schneider and his family to the Mount Washington Valley in order to run his ski school at Cranmore Mountain. Hannes Schneider is famous for pioneering the Arlberg technique of downhill skiing instruction and was instrumental in developing Cranmore and the Mount Washington Valley as a major ski destination in the Northeast.

Raffle tickets are $100 each, 6 for $500, or 14 for $1,000 to win this exciting prize, valued at $9,000.

They can be purchased online (scroll down!), via email at staff@skimuseum.org, over the phone at (603) 823-7177, or in person at both locations of the New England Ski Museum: North Conway and Franconia.

The lucky winner will be drawn at the Hannes Schneider Meister Cup on March 8, 2025.

All proceeds benefit the New England Ski Museum and will be used for educational programming, such as the highly popular ski history program for all Mount Washington Valley’s fourth graders, “Ski History In Martha’s Memory.”
